Fellows to reopen under new management

We were sad to report in April that Fellows, Morton and Clayton on Canal Street had closed down. The licensee told the Nottingham Post that high rents and brewery costs were making it impossible to make ends meet.

However, there’s some good news – the pub has been taken over by the Ever So Sensible group, which also runs Fothergills and The Castle. Word is that the building itself needs quite a bit of work doing, and the target date for reopening is September 2017.

In our opinion, this traditional boozer – trading since Victorian times – deserves some TLC to secure its long term future. Its classic features present a great opportunity, and its location offers some real promise.

Have your say!
