Address : 54 Canal Street, Nottingham, NG1 7EH.
Opened in 1895, Fellows has been a mainstay of waterside drinking for far longer than its upstart neighbour, the Canal House. It’s now in the hands of the Ever So Sensible group (who also run Fothergill’s and the Castle) who rescued it after six months of closure.
On the bar are up to six real ales from various breweries – a good selection of light to dark.
The bar area sprawls into a large dining room and another function room at the back. And you’ll also find a small beer garden – though, frankly, you’ll have more room outside if you pop next door.
Music? In house sound system. We’re sure there used to be a jukebox here at one stage.
Food? A traditional menu of pub grub is on offer.
People? Pre match this can be a gathering point for Nottingham Forest fans. Otherwise its a real mix of all ages, shapes and sizes
Opinion? Fellows has retained its reputation for a simple, honest boozer The staff know how to keep good beer and are also knowledgeable about the product. Beware, if you’re not a sports fan don’t ask them to turn the sound down.
