Nottingham CAMRA has released more details of this years Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival. Real ale gurus Steve Westby and Andrew Ludlow have posted an online video taking you on a tour around the new venue, the Motoropoint Arena.
The Festival has been forced to move because Nottingham Castle is closed for renovations. But while the location has changed, the organisers are pledging there’ll be no stuffy “indoors” atmosphere within the confines of the Arena.
For instance, Bolero Square will feature a mini village of bars for individual breweries. There’ll also be food vendors and acoustic music. And while you might be used to seeing a gig or an ice hockey match from a seat in the main hall, the edges of the building will also be used for extra seating and features including a cider bar.
As usual you’re being encouraged to buy tickets in advance, but you’ll also be able to gain entry on each day of the Festival which runs from 17th-20th October. And if you need a top up, beer tokens will be 55p each – or three for a half. Which at £1.65 isn’t bad value!
