Beer festival pledges outdoor experience – indoors

While most of us have been enjoying the alfresco experience of a lovely beer garden of late, the folk at Camra are already looking forward to mid October for the Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival. But with the Castle now closed for major renovations, a new venue has been chosen – the Motorpoint Arena.

However, we’re being told that this is definitely NOT a return to the smelly and humid old days when the festival used to be held in the former Victoria baths. In fact, organisers are promising not one but TWO outdoor “experiences” – one being Bolero Square and the other a “Backstage Beer Garden”.

The plan is to use parts of the Arena that you normally wouldn’t see – so who knows, you might just end up in Kylie’s dressing room.

Tickets are on sale now, you can see the full details here and you can also download a map of this year’s festival.
