Address : 14 Mansfield Road, Nottingham, NG1 3GX.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And that’s what happened when the Pub People company decided to create a near identical version of its popular cousin the Six Barrel in Hockley. And why not? It’s a great format that manages to bring a modern twist to a traditional boozer, bang next to the Victoria shopping centre.
On the bar you’ll find six rotating real ales and – just like its Hockley cousin, a huge selection of craft beer on draft and in cans and bottles. There’s also a good offer of ciders.
The refurbishment has also seen an innovative use of the roof space which has now been turned into an outdoor terrace, which is nicely sheltered from the wind and the passing traffic below.

Music? Background tunes most of the time, though in Spring 2022 the pub has started screening big sports events and introduced… a karaoke night.
Food? When the bar first opened a menu of brunches and lunches was on offer but this seems to have now disappeared.
People? Its proximity to the shops and bus stops means that this place attracts a real mix of people at all times of the day. Weekend evenings largely consist of bar hoppers so it’s never too busy for too long.
Opinion? The previous venue on this site was an horrendous Irish bar awash with sticky carpets and bad Guinness. The Six Barrel is a vast improvement and a potential brand for the Pub People to expand to other sites.
