During the height of Nottingham’s industrial post-war output, this area was regarded as the workers’ Friday night playground. Players had its main cigarette production line just down the road, and it was the home of Raleigh bicycles. As such, dozens of pubs thrived.
Many have since closed – if you look closely at the architecture you might be able to spot their remains. Some have survived, and they create what’s becoming an increasingly diverse night out
