Address : 11-15 Alfreton Road, Nottingham, NG7 3JE
The Overdraught comes from the same people who brought you Totally Tapped in Beeston. But the venue couldn’t be any more different. A former bank (and more recently, a fancy dress shop), the owners have gone to town on the decor, hanging star shaped lights from the ceilings and fitting samuri sword shapes to the beer taps.
There’s a healthy selection of Real Ale on offer, and a large quantity of craft beer too, from taps and in bottles and cans.
The tables have been laid out to leave plenty of standing room, which is a good thing because this place can get busy.
Music? Background tunes on the in house sound system, though when it’s busy you wouldn’t know it.
Food? No, but there’s plenty of kebab, pizza and fried chicken choice along Alfreton Road.
People? Inevitable some hipster action due to the craft beers on offer, but a good, wide crowd seeking a great product.
Opinion? Bringing a new outlet to a crowded market like Canning Circus is a big challenge, but The Overdraught appears to be offering something genuinely different to complement the existing Canning Circus scene.
